This ceramic butter dish is individually made on the pottery wheel in our home studio in the Cotswolds.

The soft green glaze gives the piece a natural, understated look that works beautifully with both traditional and contemporary kitchen styles.

The lid helps keep your butter covered between uses, while the matching base catches any crumbs or small amounts of butter, helping to keep your worktop or breakfast table tidy.

It can also be used to serve and present cheese or other small foods, making it a versatile piece of handmade kitchenware.

Handmade ceramic with individual character

Each butter dish is made from high-quality UK stoneware clay, hand glazed and fired to approximately 1230°C.

Because every piece is handmade, the glaze develops its own subtle variations during the firing process. You may notice differences in colour, texture and glaze coverage from one piece to another.

These natural variations are part of handmade pottery and mean that your butter dish will have its own individual character.

Please note that there may be some small areas inside the dish where the glaze is lighter or does not fully cover the surface. These are natural characteristics of the handmade process and do not affect the functionality of the dish.
